  • 2+ years experience with natural language programming (NLP) and machine learning algorithms; experience with technologies such as nltk, opennlp, mahout, word2vec, CRF, tensorflow

I’m Phil Hurd, the principal of Oculus Search Partners LLC. I’ve been a top-performing software recruiter for 30 years. The responsibility of helping my clients and candidates to be successful is something I take very seriously. Software engineers and leaders trust working with me because I offer them:

  • Expertise, Experience. My technical background (BSEE from RPI, MSEE from Northeastern, and computer engineering work experience) and three-decade recruiting track record means you will be represented by someone who understands what you do, who’s excited about computer science and programming, and knows how to leverage that understanding to create desirable new opportunities for you.
  • Reputation. Over 60 LinkedIn recommendations attest to my integrity, honesty, skill, and effectiveness.
  • Large Network. I’ve built a broad and deep network with CEOs, VPs of Engineering, CTOs, heads of HR, and VCs. I can use this network to open doors for you at growing companies. I have personally placed, or been involved with placing, several thousand software engineers over my career. I can help you improve your resume, prepare you for interviews, and help you negotiate a strong offer.
  • No Pressure. I don’t like when a salesperson pressures me with aggressive tactics, and I’m sure you don’t want that from a recruiter. You’re a professional, so am I, and my approach reflects that philosophy. I’m a good listener and like to do business openly and transparently.
  • Discretion, Professionalism, Respect. I never forget that this is your job search, and your life. I’ll help you reach whatever career goals you have. We go at whatever pace you want. Furthermore, I will NEVER submit your resume to any company without prior discussion and buy-in from you.
