Job Description
Responsible for support and development of company’s Laboratory Management System LIMS applications


Essential Functions:
  • Support the company’s Laboratory Management Systems by fixing defects, implementing enhancements, and performing unit testing.
  • Write documentation for applications, systems, and processes.
  • Design, develop, and unit test reports using the company’s Business Intelligence platform
  • Design, develop, and unit test database scripts to support the company’s databases.
  • Comply with the company’s Information Technology Change and Release Management Procedures
  • Participate in the design, development, and unit testing of new applications, processes, and systems as delineated by the company’s strategy plan to migrate mission critical applications to newer technology platforms.
Job Requirements:

Education:
B.S. University degree in the field of computer science or relevant experience.

Experience:
5 years or more of experience designing, developing, and unit testing applications.

Technical Skills:
  • 5 years or more of experience with VB6.
  • 2 years or more of experience with .NET Technologies including VB.NET and C#
  • 5 years or more of experience developing windows client applications (GUI).
  • 5 years or more of experience with MS SQL Server (2000, 2005) including writing stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
  • 5 years or more of experience with web technologies including ASP, ASP.NET, XML, and Web Services.
  • Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is a plus.
  • In depth understanding of relational data modeling.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Very good analytical skills
  • The ideal candidate should have solid hands-on of current or past experience with VB6 development but at the same time have knowledge and experience of .NET technologies as delineated in the previous points.
  • VB6 coding is only used for maintenance and minor enhancements of legacy applications, all new development is planned to be done using .NET technologies.
